Abstract

This week’s task was ‘Abstract’. This theme to test student’s creativity with their use of framing and composition. Abstract means non-representational, so a good abstract picture will be one that looks interesting, but you won’t necessarily recognize what it is. This is where a creative use of composition works well!

Lots of excellent entries were submitted and here are the winning two.

The peoples vote goes to Helen Martin. Really like the use of pattern and symmetrical composition. A well-deserved winner and response to the theme.

My vote goes to Annalingam Kumararajan. Again, it’s the symmetry that makes this shot looks good. Most people would probably walk past a metal fence but looking for abstract views through a fence is a great idea. Very clever, well done Kumar.
