From social media and networking to recommendations and building relationships within the wedding industry, you’ll learn how to get your work seen by the right people.

Lesson 11
Editing and Presets
The photography doesn't end when the wedding does. In this lesson, you are taught how to edit wedding photography to create a consistent finished collection. Learn how editing and presets can help establish your visual style, enhance your images and create a professional look that remains consistent across an entire wedding.
Lesson 12
Shooting at Night or in Low Light Situations
Weddings don't stop when the light disappears! Learn how to photograph confidently in dark venues, evening receptions and other challenging low-light situations. Mariana explores camera settings, available light and flash lighting techniques to help you continue creating atmospheric, professional wedding photographs long after sunset.
Lesson 13
What to Do in Challenging Situations
Weddings rarely go exactly to plan, and being able to adapt is an essential skill for any professional wedding photographer. From bad weather and difficult lighting to running late and unexpected changes, Mariana shares practical advice for staying calm, solving problems quickly and continuing to deliver great photographs when conditions are working against you.
Lesson 14
Show Me the Money!
Learn how to price your wedding photography based on your experience level and where you work in the world. Lesson 15
Organization and Workflow Management
Running a successful wedding photography business requires much more than taking photographs. Wedding Photography FAQs
-
Becoming a wedding photographer requires a combination of photography skills, real-world experience and business knowledge. You'll need to understand how to photograph people confidently, work with natural and artificial light, capture important moments as they happen and tell the story of a wedding day through your images.
But taking great photographs is only part of the job. You'll also need to learn how to build a wedding photography business, create a portfolio and website, market your services, attract clients, price your photography and manage your workflow professionally.
Our online Wedding Photography Course covers both sides of the profession, giving you a practical roadmap from developing your photography through to finding clients and running your own wedding photography business.
-
No. You don't need a formal photography qualification or degree to become a wedding photographer. Your ability to produce great photographs, work professionally with couples and successfully market your services is far more important.
However, wedding photography is demanding and comes with a lot of responsibility, so good training and preparation are extremely valuable. Before photographing weddings professionally, you should be confident using your camera, understand exposure and lighting, know how to work in changing conditions and have a clear idea of how a wedding day unfolds.
-
To start a wedding photography business, you'll need to develop your photography skills and style, decide who you want to photograph, build a strong brand, create a professional website and portfolio, decide what you'll offer and how much you'll charge, and start marketing your services to potential clients.
You'll also need systems for handling enquiries, bookings, contracts, payments, client communication, image editing and delivery.
Our Wedding Photography Course takes you through this process step by step, helping you understand not only how to photograph weddings but how to build and run the business behind them.
-
A professional wedding photographer needs reliable camera equipment that can cope with a wide variety of situations throughout a wedding day. This will usually include a good-quality camera, a selection of lenses, spare batteries and memory cards, lighting equipment and, importantly, backup equipment in case something goes wrong.
The exact equipment you need will depend on your photography style and the weddings you photograph. Rather than simply telling you to buy expensive equipment, this course explains the essential wedding photography equipment you actually need and how it is used throughout a wedding day.
-
Getting your first wedding photography clients starts with creating work that demonstrates what you can do and making it easy for the right people to discover you.
This can involve building a strong portfolio and website, using social media effectively, networking within the wedding industry, developing relationships with venues and suppliers, using recommendations and referrals, and understanding how to market yourself to the type of couples you want to photograph.
The course covers branding, websites and marketing to help you develop a practical strategy for attracting clients and growing your wedding photography business.
-
There isn't one price that every wedding photographer should charge. Your pricing will depend on factors including your experience, location, target market, the service and products you provide, your costs and the type of wedding photography business you want to build.
One of the biggest mistakes new photographers can make is choosing a price without understanding the real costs involved in running a photography business.
In the course, you'll learn about the financial side of wedding photography and the factors you should consider when pricing your services professionally.
-
Professional wedding photography requires preparation, technical ability, creativity, organisation and the ability to anticipate moments before they happen.
A wedding photographer needs to know when and where important moments are likely to occur, while also noticing the spontaneous interactions and emotions happening around them. You'll need to work confidently in changing lighting conditions, photograph people naturally, compose images quickly and adapt when things don't go according to plan.
Our course takes you through photographing the wedding day and teaches you how to capture genuine moments, create beautiful images and tell the complete story of a wedding through your photography.
-
Wedding photographers regularly work in challenging low-light conditions, particularly during indoor ceremonies, receptions and evening celebrations.
Photographing successfully in low light requires understanding your camera settings, knowing the capabilities of your equipment and deciding when to use available light or introduce your own lighting. You'll also need to work quickly without disrupting the atmosphere of the wedding.
The course includes dedicated training on photographing weddings at night and in low-light situations so you're better prepared when the available light becomes challenging.
-
You don't need previous experience photographing weddings to take this course. It is designed to help photographers who want to understand how to get started in wedding photography as well as existing wedding photographers who want to develop their skills and business.
You should, however, have a basic understanding of how to use your camera. If you're completely new to photography, we recommend learning the fundamentals of exposure, camera settings and focusing before moving into professional wedding photography.
-
Yes. An online wedding photography course can teach you the technical, creative and business skills required to prepare for photographing weddings professionally.
You can learn how professional wedding photographers approach a wedding day, what equipment they use, how they work with light, how they capture genuine moments, how they edit their photographs and how they build and market their businesses.
You'll then need to put what you've learned into practice. Wedding photography is a practical skill, so combining structured online training with regular photography practice and real-world experience is one of the best ways to develop.
-
Wedding photography can be an incredibly rewarding career for someone who enjoys photography, working with people, storytelling and running their own business.
It can also be demanding. Wedding photographers need to perform consistently under pressure, deal with changing conditions, manage clients professionally and run the business behind the photography.

-
